How to Sell a Horse Quickly

Selling a horse can be a difficult and long process, and with every month that passes and the horse hasn’t sold, you still have to continue to pay for the horse’s care. That’s why we have come up with five tips on how to sell your house quickly.
1. Evaluate the Fair Price of the Horse
In order to sell your horse quickly, make sure that you list a reasonable price. Find the correct price by evaluating the horse’s training, experience, age, conformation, breeding, weight, height, etc. If possible, ask someone else who has sold a horse before to get a feel for what a reasonable price may be.
2. Use Photos and Videos to Accurately Capture the Horse
A picture is very important when selling a horse. You will want to give any potential buyers an accurate representation of the horse to interest them in buying it. The photo(s) you display should have the horse’s full conformation and build, and it shouldn’t cover up any markings, cuts, injuries, or scars. A photo or video of the horse in action can help you market the horse to potential buyers, especially those that are out of state.
3. Advertise
Use the photos and/or videos to advertise your horse in magazines, newspapers, online, or in digital ads. These ads may cost a small fee but they will help get a lot of eyes on your horse. Another way to advertise is by taking your horse to shows and listing it for sale.

4. List Your Horse’s Background
Give a full and accurate representation of your horse’s background: how they’ve been trained, if they have been bred/foaled, or if it has won anything. You should also list the horse’s habits (both negative and positive), what their temperament is, and what type of rider they are best suited for.
5. Health Disclosure
It is important to give any potential buyers insight into the horse’s medical background including whether the horse has had any injuries, if they are up to date on shots, information about their hooves, and more. By giving a full description, potential buyers are more likely to be interested thanks to your openness about the horse.
If you follow these tips and are honest about the horse, it will be much easier for you to sell your horse, and both you and the buyer will be happy with the end result.
